Belbury Poly - From an Ancient Star

Belbury Poly is Jim Jupp, who co-runs the Ghost Box (UK) record label with Julian House (The Focus Group). Belbury Poly’s music recalls the churning synth sounds and dreamy analog forays of the 60s vanguard. Similar in tone and texture to Raymond Scott and the whole of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop’s 60s-70s output, Belbury Poly offers off-key melodies, muted rhythms and sounds both hopeful and spooky. This is his third and most recent release. Great album!

somehow this statement seems disingenuous: The postings are for promotional and preview purposes only. If you really meant it and actually supported artists you'd post "promotional/preview" files at a very low bitrate. Without checking I'd assume your files are posted at a more than adequate bitrate. Comments/justifications??

before i say anything, let me be clear: if you are someone from the band or the label and you would like me to take down the link just say it and i'll do it with no further comments.

now, about your comments on this post (that applies to all other posts):
1. the post itself is a good promotion for the band. belbury poly has around 57000 profile views in myspace and 76000 plays in last.fm. i wouldn't say it's very well known. most of the posts in this blog are about albums/bands that are not well known
2. there is a buy link and a statement: "Please support this artist and the GhostBox label in general."
3. i don't agree that promotional/preview files must be low bitrate. when you promote sth you should give your best quality sound.
