Gry with FM Einheit and his Orchestra - Public Recording

The extraordinary young Danish voice artist Gry Bagøien was attending the "Academy for Untamed Creativity" in Copenhagen when she met her musical partner FM Einheit, a former member of the legendary German band Einstürzende Neubauten. They formed a band called Gry and released two albums: Touch of E! (1998) and today's album, Public Recording (2000). This one features numerous special guests, including Pan Sonic and Neubauten’s Alexander Hacke. Their music is a fusion of trip-hop and electronica. They disbanded in 2002. A fantastic album, one of the best of the last decade. A must!

St. Germain - Tourist

St. Germain is the stage name of Ludovic Navarre, a French musician whose style merges jazzy house music with acid jazz. His first album Boulevard was released in 1995 and has sold over 300,000 copies worldwide. Tourist, released in 2000, is an intriguing collage of jazz for the DJ culture - a mixture of sampled rhythms and live musicians. Bob Marley, Toots and The Maytals, Miles Davis and Kool & The Gang are among Ludovic’s early influences. He composed his first work under the name of Sub System with friend Guy Rabiller. He has released EPs under a number of aliases, among them Deepside, LN’s, Modus Vivendi, Hexagone, Nuages and Soofle. Excellent album! Get it now!

The Third Eye Foundation is a single man project of Matt Elliott, a protagonist of the Bristol scene. In the early 90s, Elliott was a part-time member of the legendary Bristol bands Flying Saucer Attack, Amp and Movietone. In 1995, he recorded his first album ("Semtex") under the name The Third Eye Foundation. In 2003, he released his first album under his name Matt Elliott, the fantastic "The Mess we Made". This is my favourite album by The Third Eye Foundation. Highly recommended!
